I thought i would be the first one to write about the musical but i guess i am wrong :(. The whole musical thing is a collaboration of Choir, Dance and Drama Club of MayFlower Secondary. Where Mr. Chen is the director! Well i suppose everyone knows what a musical look/sound liked. If not, just think of it as a play where people sing and dance in it. It's kinda quite well done so perhaps thats why he seemed to be more fun then usual! He have gotten soft on us if anyone would notice!

I can't really describe how the musical goes. Here's just a breif description. Correct me if i am wrong. *Note: There would be singing here and there, but i won't include it inside.

There is a yearly event where the school had to produce a play to participate in the international acting somethin somethin. A girl named Donna, who was talented in singing, dancing and acting, was always chosen as the lead, but she met in an accident which cause her to be physically unwell to participate the event. So the school, having no choice- had to open up an audition.

The news of the talented girl injured and the audition had spread lyk wild fire. Where the PA(performing arts) Society members decided to join the audtion.

Then, the scene move to a soccer boy, who is the star player of his team. He had this secret desire of dancing and decided to join that audition to fufill his dream.

After that, it move to a girl, if i am not wrong, named as ashleigh- It's spelled lyk that; got it from the assistant scriptwriter himself. She, like the soccer boy had a secret desire- but it's the desire to sing and participate. She also had a best friend who is a scriptwriter in the story- who later become steads

So Ashleigh and the soccer guy went to the audition and participate together and got in the final round.

And oh- Ashleigh had a stead in the play who is jude, the one who wrote the play! -The one who Mdm Ho said is handsome durin the play- Sssh don't tell her that! But too bad for Mdm Ho, Ashleigh and Jude are stead in real life. Don't ask me how i know, i have my sources- a reliable one to boot!

News of them being able to enter the final round of the audition were heard by the PA society members. And they tried to 'sabo' them of being late because they believe that the non-musical people should not be included in the play AS firstly, It should be the PA society's job to do a play and secondly, Ashley and soccer boy were inexperience of any PA stuff. But they failed miserably. And the pair became the lead roles of the play.

The musical kind of reminds me of High School Musical, especially the girl named Cathy; the leader of the PA society. She totally acts like sharpay evans(ashley tisdale) in the series- The way she talks, the way she move herself as well as her squeaky voice. Too bad she doesn't have a brother in the musical who follows her all the time, she's also not rich too in that play xP

The Musical's theme song is "Yo Vivo Cantando"- i live to sing, is actually the new song we are going to learn NEXT!!! Well, we have the score alrdy- it's just that we haven touch on it yet xP. I am so soo looking forward to it- it sounded cool on stage during the musical. I wonder if we would produce the same or better yet, stronger sound? Anyway, i have a hunch that, "Yo Vivo Cantando" would be one of the songs we are going to sing at the end-year concert! You know, the combine choir concert i talk about in my first post!!

To tell you the truth- i kinda hate the solo parts in the musical xP Don't ask me why, i just hate it. Although i admire their courage to sing infront of the crowd alone, but yea, still hate it.

The girl named ashley had a very good voice .
overall the musical was nice.

Hey DRAMAMAMA-IANS!

We had our BBQ today- supposedly to be a farewell for seniors and welcome for juniors.Not many turned up. Well..BOO TO THOSE WHO DIDN'T TURN UP. YAY for those who did. But here are some things I would like to say to some people.

ALL THAT TURNED UP :

Thanks for turning up. It really mean a lot to us who planned the this and that you enjoyed the BBQ. We put in a lot of effort to make this work and I guess what we really wanted was to see people enjoying the BBQ. What I really meant was: We didn't want to eat 90 chicken wings , a tray of pineapple rice, 2 trays of otahs, 2 packet of hotdogs, 100 satays, 2 packet of marshmallows and whole bags of tibits by ourselves. They tasted so much better with all of you around. LOVES! (:

MAMA BROTHERS :

Thank you so much for helping us serve the Seniors. Although they were only 5 of them. But it meant a lot when I see you guys doing your best to serve the Seniors and prepare some entertainment for them so that they won't feel bored. I feel proud to have juniors like you!

Thank you for helping me so much at the BBQ pit. I think I could have died from smelling all that gas from the charcoal. At least you'll die with me. BWAHAHA. You are great at starting the fire though. Thanks so much.

Firstly I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who came for the BBQ. THANK YOU so much, really. Without you people it would not have been successful. Thanks for setting up and helping us with the shopping and cooperating with us and making this possible. Thanks also for helping me to clear up the BBQ pits and the function room.

JOEY, VANESSA and HUISHAN: Thanks for doing all the BBQing. Really. Without you we would have eaten all the uncooked stuff already. HAHA! You people are real chefs man yo! 赔付赔付! 辛苦你们了! Thanks a million! Although you guys didn't eat much but hope you all had fun. We will definitely employ you to be the Drama chefs! (Wait... Let's not talk about the pay yet! HAHA!)

Thanks Jeremiah for bring so many things, I really WOWed when I saw you carry so many things. Thanks a bunch man. Thank you Mama brothers for being the waiters for the day. Sorry for shouting at you guys because I really don't want the same thing that happened to my friends and I when they were at my old house. Hope you guys had fun at the BBQ, && we will also considering employing you guys as official Drama waiters! :D

Thanks to the other Seniors who appeared at the BBQ. We were supposed to give you the farewell cards yesterday, but sadly it was only one-fifth filled with messages which is so pathetic. So yeah, sorry. But you will definitely get them when you receive your o level results! We will be there to support you all the way yo! Don't worry, and GOOD LUCK for the O level results! :D

Hi Everyone!

This is Kerrie here!

The BBQ is confirmed and I would like everyone to bring around $6 on that day! We are catering some yummy food! All of our seniors are invited and this is probably the last time you'd see most of them, so feel free to make cards and such to show them some loooove!

As for the CCA Exhibition, we have changed the theme to Greek, simply because the SYF play is Greek theme too. We are probably doing this video during one fo our Drama trainings so you wanna appear in it, do come for the practices okay!? (;

The Drama committee had a meeting on December 1, so here are some updates that we have to announce!

*Just in case you guys don't know, the people from the committee are Kerrie (President), Joey (Vice-President), LimYen (Secretary) & Jeremiah (Treasurer).

ANYWAY, TIME FOR SERIOUS STUFF

Drama BBQ cum Farewell Party for Drama Seniors
Venue: Lim Yen's house
Time: STRAIGHT after Drama training!

Date: 23 December 2008
We will be catering the food, and we should be popping frequently to Cold Storage, which is just a 5 minute walk from Lim Yen's house. Oh, before we forget. Lim Yen's father has paid a deposit of $250 for the function room and BBQ pit. So you people better not spoil anything or you people have to pay for everything, because they will not refund the $250 if you spoil their stuff! WATCH WHAT YOU LAY YOUR HANDS ON, PEOPLE! And we mean it SERIOUSLY. If you spoil it, you pay!

Drama Hoodie (or what you people are so used to, T-SHIRT!)!!!!!!!
Lim Yen will be submitting designs to Kerrie and Joey, but we might not have a hoodie, depends what the Drama committee decides. As we can't always stick to the old stuff, we have to change the way we look right? So, a brand new look for us, the Drama Mamas! (:

Drama CCA exhibition
We might be dressing up as aliens. Aliens, but we will look decent, not scary, or no one would want to join Drama. If this idea is finalised, we will have standardised coloured Giordana tight-fitting T-shirts (tight, because aliens are skinny and have no flabby bits. Or have you seen one like that?) Colours will be BRIGHT and STRIKING, like neon green, bright orange, bright yellow, bright red, purple, hot pink and stuff. And what will we match them with? Guys will wear skinnies (because it's tight) or maybe tight shorts, see what you are most comfortable with. Girls, either skinnies or shorts with leggings, (also see what you are most comfortable with). If you have neon green shirt, then you go with neon green bottoms. Your top and bottom must be the same colour. Wait, we are not finished! Because aliens are mostly whole coloured, we have to be whole colured too. Cannot have our biege skin showing when we are in Neon green clothes right? So FACE PAINT! Yes, we will coat ourselves up with face paint: face, hands and legs all coated. (Please don't screech when you read this, but the face paint is easily washable. :D Thank God!) Then, when you are all tarted up with matching clothes and paint, you will go walking about. And the innocent new Secondary Ones will get attracted, "Hey! This is SO interesting! What CCA is this?" Then, they will proceed to the Drama booth and sign up for the audition! YAY!

Drama Camp
We have not decided when and where yet. But maybe we are going to have a Nightwalk (hehehe...) and maybe some late night supper. And we will PROBABLY be camping under the stars (WHOO-HOO!) and/or in air-con rooms (double WHOO-HOO!) And not forgetting our Drama trainings (triple WHOO-HOO!) Alright, let's stop fantasizing...

Drama Email Account
We also have our very own Drama email account. Only the committee of the drama club will have access to this email.(HAA you people.) So, if there's any questions you would like to ask us so email us at MFdrama@hotmail.com .We will also use this account to email teachers/ drama members information. Eg, changes in training schedule, etc.

That's about all that we have discussed. The other things are meant to be kept among the Drama committee. And we will insert a tagbox soon, so that you would be able to ask anything you are in doubt of.
